SIN City

Touchdown: SIN

It is always fun to visit other countries especially if the travel time is not more than 5 hours. That actually is the benchmark that I consider every time I travel with my parents when I was still a kid, and probably until now. More than 5 hours inside a car or a plane bores me to death. It's a good thing that SIN city can be reached in 3 hours. :)

It's one of my favorite places. It is not the famous Sin City. It is an airport code. Other travel experts can relate to that, and so are the residents of the city who travels by plane a lot.

Walking around the city and enjoying the views of the building is just like walking in the city of Makati, and the river somehow is the same as Pasig River. What makes it different is the cleanliness of the place. I can safely say that I can eat one whole week at the hawker outlets without getting sick.

Spotting another difference? The giant Merlion at the Singapore River! But we also have a giant shoe in the river of Marikina. Is that a valid basis of comparison?  :D Both are giants anyway.

I spend most of my time near the river area every time I go here. I may be a boring kid, but the view delights me and brings back childhood memories. Plus the addition of the Marina Bay Sands and the giant ferris wheel and the esplanade makes the river picture perfect!

Staying within the river area until night time unleashes the ghost in me. All I need to do is stroll to Clarke Quay, and I can party all night long and disappear in the dark.

The tram is my fave mode of transfer. I carry a map with me all the time. I like the feeling of being a tourist! Haha!

I also ride the bus when I feel like I want to be lost and feel less smart.

Going to Sentosa? I prefer the cable cars more than the Sentosa Express. I love the feeling of being up there.

Visit to SIN city is not complete without touchbasing with the animals and it's better to visit them at night.

Care for some adventures? There's a lot, but I have one favorite, right across Clarke Quay.

And how can we leave the city without spending time with relatives and friends? They'll bring you to good restaurants and shopping outlets and spend time with you just laughing about almost everything. 

Life is fun. Enjoy the most of it while it's here. Enjoy it with the people that matters most to you.

The Man-made Beaches of Sentosa

I have been to Singapore 5 times since 2000 and it never runs out of new attractions and tourist destinations. The most amazing part of Singapore that I never fail to visit is the island of Sentosa, where the beaches are man-made and is so full of new things to look forward to.

The whole stretch of the island was surrounded by white sand and has several picture taking spots for first-timers.

Beach front hotels, bars and restaurants are also available for those who wish to experience night life and have an overnight stay in the island.

The island is also packed with several other things to explore. You can jog and walk and enjoy the whole stretch of the beach, experience zip line, surf, ride the cable car, take the sky ride, go up on the tower and see the 360 view of the island, shop, eat and drink, play with the dolphins, visit the Underwaterworld, spend your whole day at the Universal Studios or try your luck at the Resorts World Sentosa.

To get to Sentosa island, you may ride the cable car from Mt Faber, take the sentosa express from Vivo City or just simply ride the bus.

KK State and City Mosques

It was four in the afternoon when we arrived to the city of KK from Ranau.

The weather was cloudy with occasional rain. We visited the city and state mosques, signal hill and the Atkinson Tower.

The view of the city from the hill is breathtaking. The mosques have great architectures and the landscapes are very amazing.

Mount Kinabalu - Climbathon 2012

We left the city of Kinabalu at seven in the morning after having a sumptuous breakfast at the Bunga Raya Cafe. 

We hired a car to bring us to Ranau and we stopped at Poring Hot Springs where we had some warm up and our early lunch.

We arrived Kinabalu Park after an hour and a half drive and we reached the Climbathon registration area.

After having the route map to the summit, we got our badges, and started trekking downhill. 

Our first stop was at Carson falls.

We had many stopovers for picture taking and hydrating as the trail is really steep.

We did not finish the trek as fog started to blind our paths and we didn't have a guide or any climbing equipment with us.

We just enjoyed the views and went back to the starting point. 

We'll bring more company on our next visit. :)
